Early Life and Education
Mehmet Sinan Tara was born in Istanbul in 1958. He attended the German High School in Istanbul and pursued civil engineering in Switzerland, graduating in 1980. He furthered his education by earning an MBA from Stanford University in the United States.
Rise to Success
Sinan Tara's career began in 1980 when he joined ENKA İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş., a company co-founded by his father, Şarık Tara. He started as a field engineer at the ENKA Arabia site. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, including General Manager. In 1994, he took over as the Chairman of the Board, a position he continues to hold. Under his leadership, ENKA has grown to become one of Turkey's largest construction and energy companies.

ENKA operates in several sectors, including construction, energy production, real estate investment, and trade. The company has executed numerous projects across 58 countries, with a total contract value exceeding $65 billion. ENKA has focused on international expansion, particularly in Russia, where it has completed over 30 projects. In recent years, ENKA has been expanding its presence in Europe, particularly in Germany, the United Kingdom, Serbia, and North Macedonia. ENKA also owns significant real estate, including hotels, shopping malls, and office spaces.
Philanthropy
Sinan Tara is actively involved in social activities and responsibility projects. He has been actively involved in the Enka Foundation, established in 1983, and other initiatives, including the Enka Sports Club and Enka Schools. He also serves as a member of the High Advisory Council of TÜSİAD and a member of the Turkish Contractors Association.
