Matthew Roszak was born in the United States in the early 1970s. Both of his parents were small business owners, which instilled in him an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. Roszak graduated from Lake Forest College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

After graduating, Roszak began his career in venture capital and private equity, working for firms such as Keystone Capital Partners, Advent International, Platinum Venture Partners, and SilkRoad Equity. He invested over $1 billion in various industries. In 2012, Roszak began building a substantial cryptocurrency portfolio, becoming an early investor in Bitcoin and related technologies. He also participated in early initial coin offerings (ICOs). In 2015, he co-founded Bloq, a blockchain enterprise software company.
