Mark Hancock was born in 1974 and began his career in finance. He holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering from Brigham Young University (BYU) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from BYU's Marriott School of Management. Before starting PACS, Hancock worked for Fortune 500 companies in the auto and steel industries and as the treasurer for a $20 billion financial services company.

Hancock co-founded PACS Group with Jason Murray in 2013. The company started with two skilled nursing facilities and expanded to 315 facilities across 17 states after taking the company public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2024. Before the IPO, Hancock and Murray each owned 50% of PACS Group, and Hancock now owns nearly 35% of the company's shares.
