Mark L. Attanasio was born in the Bronx, New York, on September 29, 1957. He graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in 1979 and received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1982. After a stint at a law firm, Attanasio transitioned to the finance industry, laying the groundwork for his future success.

Attanasio's career in finance took off with his co-founding of Crescent Capital Group in 1991. The firm has grown to manage billions in assets. His keen business acumen led him to acquire a significant stake in the Milwaukee Brewers in 2004, becoming Chairman and Principal Owner. Under his leadership, the Brewers have become a consistently competitive team, frequently reaching the postseason and holding a high winning percentage within the National League.
