Early Life
Marina Prada, born Maria Bianchi on May 10, 1949, in Milan, Italy, is the youngest granddaughter of Mario Prada, the founder of the luxury goods manufacturer Prada. During the 1970s, she was involved in the women's rights movement and the Italian Communist Party. She attended Liceo Classico Berchet high school in Milan and graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in political science in 1971, and later obtained a PhD from the same university. She also studied acting at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan.
Rise to Success
Marina Prada's family business, Prada, was established in 1913 as a leather goods shop. Miuccia Prada, her sister, took over the family business in 1978 and transformed it into a global luxury brand. Marina and her brother Alberto inherited a share of Prada. However, neither Marina nor Alberto is involved in running the business.
Key Business Strategies

These strategies include innovative designs, the use of high-quality materials, and the establishment of a strong brand identity. Prada's focus on luxury, craftsmanship, and a distinctive brand image has been key to its success.
