Early Life and Education
Marek Dospiva was born on July 18, 1969, in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic. He studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and Peking University. Dospiva later obtained a Master's degree from Charles University in Prague.
Rise to Success
Dospiva's entrepreneurial journey began in the early 1990s when he started importing Chinese textiles to Czechoslovakia with Jaroslav Haščák, a classmate from Beijing. Together with partners, they founded Penta Brokers in 1993. In 1996, Penta gained control of a major fund during Slovakia's privatization, marking a significant early success. In 2001, Dospiva began managing the company's assets in Prague.

Dospiva oversees the group’s strategy and development of the entire portfolio, with an emphasis on real estate. Penta is also involved in healthcare, banking, real estate, and aeronautical industries.
Philanthropy
Dospiva, through the Penta Foundation, supports various charitable activities. The foundation has donated over 170 million CZK (approximately $7.5 million USD) to healthcare, cultural, and scientific projects since 2002. He also supported Ukraine with 75 million CZK (approximately $3.3 million USD) and donated to hospitals and the public sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
