Early Life
Marc Lipschultz earned his undergraduate degree with honors and distinction, Phi Beta Kappa, from Stanford University in 1991 and his MBA with high distinction, Baker Scholar, from Harvard Business School in 1995. Before beginning his career in finance, he shared a 1991 Firestone Medal for his undergraduate research work in economics.
Rise to Success
Lipschultz began his career in finance at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and principal investment activities. He joined KKR in 1995 and spent over two decades there, serving on the firm's Management Committee and as the Global Head of Energy and Infrastructure. He co-founded Owl Rock Capital Partners in 2016, which merged with Dyal Capital to form Blue Owl in 2021. Lipschultz was promoted to co-CEO of Blue Owl alongside Doug Ostrover in May 2023. Blue Owl Capital has emerged as one of the most prominent firms in the global asset management industry, overseeing tens of billions of dollars in assets across multiple investment platforms.
