Early Life
Mangal Prabhat Lodha was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in December 1955, into a Marwari Jain family. His father, Guman Mal Lodha, was an independence activist and former Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court. Lodha completed his B.Com and LLB from the University of Jodhpur. After his studies, he practiced law at the Jodhpur High Court before moving to Mumbai in 1981.
Rise to Success
In 1980, Lodha founded the Lodha Group, which has now evolved into Macrotech Developers. He started by constructing affordable houses in Mumbai's suburbs and under his leadership, the company expanded, undertaking ambitious projects that redefined Mumbai's skyline. He then entered the commercial segment and luxury market. Macrotech Developers went public in April 2021. Lodha's wealth is primarily derived from his substantial ownership stake in Macrotech Developers.
