Early Life
Luc Tack was born in Waregem, Belgium, in 1961. From a young age, he displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, seeking emancipation from his parents at 18 to start his first business, importing wood products.
Rise to Success
Tack's career took a significant turn when he entered Picanol, a textile machine manufacturer, in 2005. He became the majority shareholder in 2009. Picanol was facing challenges, including internal divisions and a changing market. Under Tack's leadership, Picanol underwent a successful restructuring. Tack then became CEO of chemical company Tessenderlo Group in December 2013. In 2023, Tessenderlo Group acquired the Picanol group. Tack also owns and operates businesses in other sectors such as cleaning and water treatment.
