Early Life
Liu Yongxing was born in June 1948 in Sichuan, China. He grew up with three brothers, Liu Yongyan, Chen Yuxin, and Liu Yonghao, and one sister, Liu Yonghong. They came from a family that had been landowners before the Cultural Revolution, and faced challenges due to this past. Liu graduated from Xihua University in 1968.
Rise to Success
In the late 1970s, Liu and his brothers started an electronics company, but it was closed down because it was considered too capitalistic at the time. In 1982, Liu and his brothers co-founded the Hope Group in Sichuan Province, initially focusing on raising quail and hatching chickens. In 1986, the Hope Research Center was established for animal feeds. In 1995, the Hope Group split into four companies, with Liu Yongxing founding East Hope Group. East Hope Group has become one of the largest aluminum producers worldwide. In 1999, the headquarters of East Hope Group was relocated to Shanghai.
