Early Life
Liora Ofer was born in Haifa, Israel, on December 22, 1953. She received her education at the Hebrew Reali School. At the young age of 20, Ofer began her career by working with her father, Yuli Ofer, in the family business, Ofer Investments. This early exposure laid the foundation for her future leadership roles within the company and the broader real estate industry.
Rise to Success
Ofer's career in the real estate industry is marked by significant achievements and strategic leadership. In 1995, she was appointed general manager of Coral Beach Eilat Ltd., a subsidiary of Ofer Investments. In 2007, she became a director and vice chairperson of Melisron. The following year, in 2008, she was named chairperson of Melisron's board of directors. Under Liora Ofer's leadership, Melisron has grown into one of Israel's largest real estate companies. She oversaw significant acquisitions, including the purchase of 25 shopping malls from British Israel Investments Ltd and the Ramat Aviv mall. In 2015, Ofer resolved a legal dispute over her inheritance, securing a 52% controlling stake in Ofer Investments. In January 2023, she bought the remaining 15% from her brother, gaining 100% ownership.
