Early Life
Lim Chai Hock was born in Malaysia on August 12, 1959. He completed his secondary education in Malaysia in 1977.
Rise to Success
Lim's career began with a focus on the coal industry. He started as a field manager at PT Jaya Sumpiles Indonesia, a coal mining infrastructure company. Lim then joined Bayan Group and eventually became the Chief Operating Officer and Director of PT Bayan Resources. He is also a co-founder of the Bayan Group and serves on the board of several of its subsidiaries. He holds a land surveying certificate from Lembaga Jabatan Ukur, Semenanjung Malaysia, which he obtained in 1981. He was appointed as Director of PT Gunungbayan Pratamacoal in 1998, and Director of PT Bayan Resources Tbk on July 26, 2006. Since 2010, he has served as a Director of PT Kariangau Power.
