Li Zhenguo's career began after graduating from Lanzhou University with a degree in materials science. He held positions at several semiconductor factories before co-founding LONGi Green Energy Technology in 2000 with classmates and his wife, Li Xiyan. LONGi initially focused on reprocessing silicon materials. Later, the founders shifted the company's direction toward solar technology development.
Key Business Strategies
Under Li's leadership, LONGi has become the world's largest manufacturer of monocrystalline silicon wafers. The company's success stems from strategic investments in research and development and a focus on high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon products. LONGi has expanded its global presence and produces 106 gigawatts of solar silicon wafers and 70 GW of solar modules in 2024, with products sold in over 150 countries.
