Early Life
Li Shui-po was born in Taiwan in 1956. His interest in mechanical engineering was apparent early on. He graduated from the Taipei Institute of Technology (now the National Taipei University of Technology). His early life is mostly private, but it is known that he had a strong interest in mechanical engineering.
Rise to Success
Li Shui-po started his career in a steel mill in Dajia District, Taichung, where he rose to the position of factory director. In 1991, he co-founded Kinglai Hygienic Materials with his wife, who had experience in international trade. She helped them secure their first significant US client with a $40,000 order. Li moved Kinglai's headquarters to Kunshan, Jiangsu, China in 2000 and secured their first Chinese order from the Yili Group. The company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2011, a pivotal moment.
