Under Li's leadership, CATL has formed strategic partnerships with major automakers such as BMW, Ford, and Tesla, which helped expanding CATL's global footprint.

CATL’s success is based on its early investments in EV battery technologies, the development of advanced battery technologies, such as sodium-ion batteries and the Shenxing LFP battery, and its focus on cost and operational efficiency in production.
