Early Life and Education
Li Ge was born in Beijing, China, and received a B.A. from Peking University in 1989. He furthered his education in the United States, earning a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Columbia University in 1994. At Columbia, he was mentored by renowned professors W. Clark Still and Koji Nakanishi, laying the foundation for his future success.
Rise to Success
After completing his doctorate, Li joined Pharmacopeia, Inc., where he gained valuable experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Inspired by a business trip to China, he co-founded WuXi AppTec in Shanghai in 2000 with his wife, Ning Zhao. Under Li's leadership, WuXi AppTec has become a leading global contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO), providing services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide.
