Early Life
Lalit Khaitan was born in Kolkata and studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, and St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, and completed a Managerial Finance and Accounting course at Harvard University.
Rise to Success
In 1972, Khaitan's father, G.N. Khaitan, acquired Rampur Distillery & Chemical Company Ltd. Lalit Khaitan took charge of the family business in 1995. Under his leadership, Radico Khaitan has become a leading manufacturer of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), with products available in over 85 countries. Khaitan's strategic vision and marketing acumen, particularly with brands like 8 PM Whisky, have driven significant growth. The company's market capitalization has soared from a modest Rs 5 crore to over Rs 5,000 crore.
