Koon Poh Keong, born in April 1961, holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma. Upon returning to Malaysia after his studies in the United States, Koon faced a challenging economic climate marked by recession.

In 1986, Koon, along with his four brothers, Koon Poh Ming, Koon Poh Weng, Koon Poh Tat, and Koon Poh Kong, pooled $50,000 to establish an aluminum-extruding company. This marked the beginning of Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Berhad. Koon Poh Keong serves as the Group CEO of Press Metal.
