Early Life
Konstantin Yuryevich Nikolaev was born on March 5, 1971, in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR. He graduated from Moscow State University in 1993 with a degree in philosophy. Before transitioning to the business world, Nikolaev worked as a freight forwarder at Murmansk port during his studies.
Rise to Success
Nikolaev began his career in the early 1990s in the transportation and logistics sector. He held positions at Petra and Aniko Marine. In 1996, he co-founded Severstaltrans with partners Nikita Mishin, Andrei Filatov, and Alexey Mordashov. Over time, this company evolved into N-Trans, which became a major player in railway transport and port operations. From 1997 to 2008, Nikolaev served as CEO of Severstaltrans. Nikolaev and his partners also co-founded Global Ports Investments, which went public on the London Stock Exchange.
