Early Life
Kochouseph Thomas Chittilappilly was born in 1950 in Parappur, Thrissur, Kerala, India. He completed his schooling at a local church school. Chittilappilly graduated from Christ College, Irinjalakuda, and earned a master's degree in Physics from St. Thomas College, Thrissur.
Rise to Success
Chittilappilly's career began in 1973 as a supervisor at Telics, an electronics company. In 1977, he founded V-Guard Industries with a modest capital of ₹100,000. Under his leadership, V-Guard became a leading brand in voltage stabilizers. Chittilappilly diversified his business with the establishment of the Veegaland water theme park in Kerala in 2000, later rebranded as Wonderla Kochi. Another park, Wonderla, was subsequently started in Bengaluru.
