Kathy Britton's journey began with her education. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a law degree from the University of Houston. These academic foundations provided her with a solid base for navigating the complexities of the homebuilding industry.
Rise to Success
Britton's career took a pivotal turn when she took over Perry Homes from her father, Bob Perry, after his passing in 2013. She had previously worked in the sales and land acquisition departments. Under her leadership as CEO, and later as executive chair, the company expanded significantly. Perry Homes built a strong reputation as one of Texas's biggest builders. Perry Homes expanded into markets like Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Florida. The company has built over 65,000 homes across more than 120 communities.
Key Business Strategies
Britton's success is rooted in several key strategies. One of them is the focus on superior quality and offering customers choices in home designs, including options for floor plans, technology, and materials. In 2022, Britton stepped down as CEO to focus on the long-term direction of the business.
Philanthropy
Kathy Britton founded the Perry Homes Foundation in 2017 and is a trustee of the Perry Family Foundation. She also serves on the boards of St. John's School and the YMCA of Greater Houston, as well as the board of visitors of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
