Early Life
Julia Margaret Flesher Koch was born on April 12, 1962, in Indianola, Iowa. Her family owned a furniture store. She spent her early childhood in Iowa and then moved to Conway, Arkansas, where her parents started a clothing store. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas.
Rise to Success
In 1984, she moved to New York City and worked as an assistant to fashion designer Adolfo. She met David Koch on a blind date in 1991 and married him in 1996. After David Koch's death in 2019, Julia and her three children inherited a 42% stake in Koch Industries.

Julia Koch is a major shareholder in Koch Industries, which operates across various sectors, including energy, chemicals, and manufacturing. She serves on the board of directors of Koch Industries.
