Early Life
Juan Abello Gallo was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1941. He is the son of a pharmacist, Juan Abello Pascual. He earned a degree in pharmacy from Complutense University of Madrid in 1963 and a doctorate in pharmacy in 1978.
Rise to Success
Abello's career began in 1966 when he became the Managing Director of Antibióticos, S.A., his family's pharmaceutical company. He led the disposal of Antibióticos and other family pharma assets in 1986. In 1990, he founded Torreal, a global investment firm. Torreal has made significant investments in various industries. One notable investment was in Investindustrial, leading to Abello gaining control of 37.5% of Aston Martin in 2013. In 2018, he co-founded Linneo Health, a company focused on cannabis-derived products. In 2020, Juan transitioned to the role of Honorary President of Torreal, with his son Miguel Abelló becoming the Executive President.
