Early Life
Joseph C. Grendys was born in Chicago in the early 1960s. His father was a butcher, which provided an early exposure to the meat industry. His grandparents emigrated from Poland. Grendys attended Holy Cross High School in River Grove and worked part-time at Koch Foods while a student.
