Rise to Success with Airbnb
Gebbia co-founded Airbnb in 2008 with Brian Chesky and Nathan Blecharczyk. The idea originated when Gebbia and Chesky, struggling to pay rent, decided to rent out air mattresses in their San Francisco apartment during a design conference. This concept quickly evolved into a global platform, transforming the hospitality industry. Airbnb's success has been driven by connecting hosts with guests worldwide, offering a wide array of accommodations. The company went public in December 2020, with shares priced at $68, and the market value exceeded $100 billion. Gebbia stepped down from his full-time operating role at Airbnb in July 2022 but remains on the board of directors.
