Born James Nicholas Pritzker on August 13, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Jennifer Pritzker is a member of the prominent Pritzker family, known for their business success. Her early life in Oberlin, Ohio, sparked her interest in architecture and preservation. Pritzker enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1974 and served with the 82nd Airborne Division. After completing her military service, she enrolled in Loyola University of Chicago and graduated with a B.A. in History. Pritzker was commissioned as an Army officer and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Illinois Army National Guard in 2001.
