Janice Suber McNair was born on September 30, 1936, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She attended Columbia College, a private women's liberal arts college, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Rise to Success
Janice McNair co-founded the Houston Texans in 1999 alongside her husband, Bob McNair. After his death in 2018, she became the principal owner of the team. The Texans are the youngest franchise in the NFL, with their inaugural season in 2002. Her family's wealth was built upon Bob McNair's success in the energy sector, most notably through the sale of Cogen Technologies to Enron in 1999. In March 2024, her son Cal McNair was approved as principal owner.
