Early Life
James Carl France was born on October 24, 1944, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is the son of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. and Betty Jane France. He grew up immersed in the world of racing, attending Seabreeze High School and later Florida Southern College, where he earned a business degree in 1968.
Rise to Success
France's career began within the family business, International Speedway Corporation (ISC), at the young age of 14. He ascended through various roles, including President and CEO, before inheriting control of NASCAR and ISC alongside his brother Bill France Jr. upon their father's death in 1992. He later assumed the role of Interim CEO and Chairman of NASCAR in 2018, becoming the permanent CEO and Chairman soon after.
