Inder Jaisinghani was born in Lohar Chawl, Mumbai, and grew up in modest surroundings. His life took a significant turn at 15 due to the untimely death of his father, Thakurdas Jaisinghani, which led him to leave school and take charge of the family's small electrical shop, Sind Electric Stores. This marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, driven by a need to support his family.
Rise to Success
Jaisinghani, along with his brothers, expanded the family business, recognizing the potential in India's growing electrical wires and cables industry. In 1983, they founded Polycab Industries, formally entering the electrical goods manufacturing sector. Jaisinghani's leadership journey began in 1997 when he took over as Chairman and Director of Polycab. Under his guidance, Polycab expanded its offerings to include power cables, telephone cables, and PVC-insulated cables, differentiating itself with quality and innovation. He implemented strategies to expand into new markets and prioritize product quality, transforming the company into a household name.
