Huang Yi, along with Li Guoqiang, founded Zhongsheng Group in 1998. The company quickly grew to become a major player in the automotive retail sector in China. Zhongsheng Group Holdings Limited is headquartered in Beijing, China, and operates numerous dealerships across the country.

Zhongsheng Group focuses on luxury and mid-to-high-end brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Porsche, and Land Rover. The company's strategy has been to capitalize on the growing demand for automobiles in China, establishing dealerships across the country. Zhongsheng opened its first Toyota and Nissan dealerships in 1998 and its first Audi dealership in 1999. The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in March 2010.
