Early Life and Education
Ho Hung Anh was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1970. He pursued higher education in Russia, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Kiev Polytechnic Institute and a Master's in Human Resource Management from Moscow State University of Road Transport. During his time in Russia, he met Nguyen Dang Quang, with whom he would later co-found Masan Group.
Rise to Success
Anh's entrepreneurial journey began in the 1990s when he started trading goods between Eastern Europe and Vietnam. This venture laid the foundation for the establishment of Masan Group, a major Vietnamese conglomerate. In 1995, he began investing in Techcombank. He took control of the bank in 2006. In 2018, he stepped down as Masan's vice chairman to focus entirely on banking before Techcombank's public listing.
