Early Life
Hermanto Tanoko was born in Malang, East Java, on September 17, 1962. His parents were shopkeepers, and he was involved in the family business from a young age, learning about business from a young age by assisting his mother at the dry goods store and accompanying his father to his paint shop, Toko Cat 73.
Rise to Success
Tanoko's career began in 1982 when he joined the family paint business, PT Avia Avian. Under his leadership, the company grew to become one of Indonesia's largest paint manufacturers, expanding its product line and distribution network. He took the company public in 2021. Tanoko expanded his business interests with Tancorp Group, also called Tancorp Global Sentosa, in 2016. Tancorp encompasses diverse sectors, including manufacturing, retail, logistics, and property. He is also the owner of bottled water company Sariguna Primatirta.
Key Business Strategies
Tanoko is known for his sharp business strategies, hard work, and extensive investment diversification. The brothers took their paints outfit public in 2021. His businesses are B2C (business to consumer) with product directly to consumer. Also he planned to launch a chemical company IPO in one to two years.
Philanthropy
Avian Brands has been involved in various philanthropic activities, particularly in education, environmental protection, and disaster relief through the program Avian Brands Peduli.
