Hans Georg Näder was born on September 4, 1961, in Duderstadt, Germany, as the only son of Maria and Max Näder. His parents were family entrepreneurs. Näder graduated from Eichsfeld Grammar School in Duderstadt in 1981 and later studied Business Administration at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

In 1990, at the age of 28, Näder took over the management of the Ottobock Group from his father. Under his leadership, the company has grown significantly, becoming the world market leader in prosthetics. Näder spearheaded the internationalization of the family business, expanding its presence to over 60 countries. He oversaw the launch of major innovations, such as the C-Leg, a microprocessor-controlled knee joint, which revolutionized the industry.
