Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani was born in Doha, Qatar, in 1959. He is the fifth son of Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani and a grandson of Jaber bin Mohammed Al Thani, who was a younger brother of Qatar's founding father. Rise to Success
Hamad's career includes being the Director of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture's office, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Water, and the Foreign Minister of Qatar. He later became the Prime Minister and retained his position as Foreign Minister, playing a key role in Qatar's vast foreign policy goals and establishing strong connections with the US government. He has overseen the investment of billions of dollars of Qatar's cash, generated by its enormous energy reserves.
