Prasad's career in the pharmaceutical industry began when he co-founded Benzex Labs in 1985, which was later acquired by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. In 1990, he became the CEO and MD of Cheminor Drugs Ltd. In 2001, Cheminor Drugs merged with Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, and Prasad became the Vice-Chairman and CEO, playing a crucial role in the company's global expansion and generics strategy. Under his leadership, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has transformed into a global pharmaceutical giant.
