Early Life
Georgi Domuschiev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1970. He and his brother, Kiril, attended French- and Spanish-language schools, respectively. Their parents had upper-middle-class jobs. His father was the director of Sofia's electricity department, and his mother was a finance director at an energy firm. Domuschiev earned a Master's degree in Industrial Management and Marketing from the Technical University of Sofia.
Rise to Success
In the 1990s, after the fall of communism in Bulgaria, Georgi and his brother Kiril started a business trading clothes and shoes. They then began investing in privatized state-owned companies. They founded the investment conglomerate Advance Properties in 2003, with interests in animal health, shipping, port management, real estate, and soccer. Advance Properties' largest asset is Huvepharma, a global animal health company.
Key Business Strategies
Domuschiev's business strategy has focused on taking over underperforming state assets and reinvesting profits into his projects. This approach has led to the expansion of Huvepharma and significant growth in their various ventures. The brothers' focus has been on building the business, not keeping cash in the bank or buying shares on the stock market.
Philanthropy
Domuschiev is a co-founder of Domuschiev Impact, committed to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) leadership, supporting sustainable development, food security, and education.
