Gang Ye was born in China and moved to Singapore in his teens through a government scholarship program. He attended Hwa Chong Institution and Raffles Junior College before pursuing higher education in the United States.
Rise to Success
Gang Ye's career began with studies in Computer Science and Economics at Carnegie Mellon University. He later worked at Wilmar International and the Economic Development Board of Singapore, gaining valuable business and strategy experience. In 2009, he co-founded Sea Limited (formerly Garena) with Forrest Li and David Chen. The company's initial focus was on online gaming, expanding to e-commerce and digital financial services.
