Fritz Draexlmaier was born in Geisenhausen, Germany, on November 1, 1914. His grandfather founded a leather and shoe factory in 1875, which later expanded to include a sewing line. Draexlmaier attended school in Geisenhausen, Simbach and Munich.
Rise to Success
Draexlmaier's career began in the family business, the leather and shoe factory “Sebastian Dräxlmaier”. In 1958, he co-founded the Dräxlmaier Group with his wife, Lisa. The company's first major contract was to produce wiring harnesses for the Goggomobil, a microcar. This marked the beginning of their venture into the automotive industry. The company quickly expanded, producing interior components and securing contracts with major automobile manufacturers such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Tesla. Draexlmaier served as CEO until 2019, and currently is the Chairman of the Board of the DRÄXLMAIER Group.
