Finn Rausing was born in Lund, Sweden, in 1954. He is the son of Gad Rausing and Birgit Rausing. His grandfather, Ruben Rausing, founded Tetra Pak in 1951, which would later revolutionize the packaging industry. Rausing earned a Bachelor of Laws from Lund University and an MBA from INSEAD. He began his career by working within the Tetra Pak Group during the 1980s. He later served as a controller at Atlas Copco from 1990 to 1993. In 1995, he and his siblings acquired their uncle's share of Tetra Laval. Rausing's focus shifted to board work, and he has been a non-executive board member of Tetra Laval since 1995. He is also a board member of Alfa Laval and chairman of the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE).
