Early Life
Evangelos Mytilineos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1954. He graduated from the Moraitis School and holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Athens and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. His family's business, which was founded in 1908, initially represented metal and steel product manufacturers.
Rise to Success
Evangelos Mytilineos took over the family business in 1978 and established MYTILINEOS Holdings Group in 1990. Under his leadership, the company expanded through strategic acquisitions. In 1995, the company was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. Key acquisitions included METKA in 1998, and Aluminium of Greece in 2005. The company was renamed METLEN in 2024 and completed a dual listing on the London stock exchange in 2025.
