Cui Genliang was born in 1958 in Qidu town of Wujiang district, Suzhou city. After serving in the army, he became the head of a clothing factory. His entrepreneurial journey began when he took over a township farming machine factory, which was in debt at the time.
Rise to Success
Cui's career shifted when he transformed the struggling farming tool factory into a telecommunications cable factory, achieving significant sales in his first year. In 1994, Cui established Hengtong Group to focus on manufacturing optical fiber. A pivotal moment was in 2010 when Hengtong successfully developed its first optical fiber preform after extensive research.
