Clark Knobel Hunt was born on February 19, 1965, in Dallas, Texas. He is the son of Lamar Hunt, a pioneer in American sports and the founder of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Norma Hunt. His grandfather, H.L. Hunt, was a prominent oil tycoon.

Hunt graduated from St. Mark's School of Texas in 1983. He then attended Southern Methodist University (SMU), graduating in 1987 with a degree in business administration, concentrating in finance. During his time at SMU, he was captain of the nationally-ranked soccer team and a two-time Academic All-American.

Rise to Success

After graduating from SMU and working for two years as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, Hunt returned to Dallas and worked with his father. He joined the Chiefs' front office in 1993. Following his father's death in 2006, Clark, along with his siblings, inherited ownership of the Chiefs. He became chairman in 2005 and CEO in 2010.

Under his leadership, the Chiefs have seen a resurgence. They have won numerous AFC West division titles and multiple Super Bowls (LIV, LVII, LVIII).
