Christian Latouche was born in Bordeaux, France, on July 18, 1940, to a family of merchants. He was educated by the Jesuit Fathers at the Collège de Provence in Marseille. After completing his baccalaureate, Latouche served in the military before entering the ESCP Business School in 1960, where he studied finance and accounting.
