Early Life
Chow Shing Yuk was born in mainland China and raised in Hong Kong, where he grew up in humble conditions. He excelled academically, earning a scholarship to study in the United States after achieving remarkable results in his high school examinations.
Rise to Success
Chow's career began as a consultant at Bain & Co. after earning a bachelor's degree from Stanford University. However, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to a different path, and he transitioned to professional poker, where he achieved considerable success, accumulating significant winnings. In 2013, Chow founded Lalatech, which later became Lalamove, using his poker winnings as seed capital.
Key Business Strategies
Lalamove disrupted the logistics industry by digitizing the freight booking process. The company's mobile app connects users with drivers, offering efficient delivery services in various cities across Asia and Latin America. Chow's strategic vision included expanding Lalamove's presence and services, and the company has grown rapidly since its inception. In October 2025, Lalamove last filed for a Hong Kong IPO after failed attempts since 2023.
