Chandru Raheja was born in 1941 in Karachi, Sindh Province (British India). His family, originally from a business background, moved to Mumbai after the Partition of India. He has a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Mumbai.
Rise to Success
Raheja entered the family business, K Raheja Group, after completing his LLB in the mid-1960s. In 1996, he founded K Raheja Corp after splitting from his brothers. Under his leadership, K Raheja Corp expanded into various sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality. This expansion included the development of IT parks (Mindspace), malls (Inorbit), and hotels (Chalet Hotels), and the retail chain Shoppers Stop.
