Cao Longxiang's career path began outside of the pharmaceutical industry. Before entering the healthcare sector, he worked as a manager at a cement factory and served in the Chinese military.
Rise to Success
Cao's path to success in the pharmaceutical industry began when he took a job with Hubei Jumpcan Pharmaceutical. He later became the chairman of the company, which is one of China's largest drug companies specializing in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine. Cao took control of the company in 2013 and now owns more than 60% of the company.

Under Cao's leadership, Hubei Jumpcan Pharmaceutical has focused on both Western and traditional Chinese medicine. The company went public in 2001 as Hubei Hongcheng General Machinery.
Family
Cao's son, Cao Fei, serves as the vice chairman of Hubei Jumpcan Pharmaceutical.
