Bulent Eczacibasi was born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1949. He is the son of Nejat Eczacibasi, the founder of the Eczacıbaşı Group. Growing up in an entrepreneurial environment, he developed a keen interest in business from a young age. He attended the Deutsche Schule Istanbul before pursuing higher education at Imperial College London and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Bulent Eczacibasi initiated his professional career in 1974 at Eczacıbaşı Holding, where he progressed through various managerial positions. His dedication and expertise led to his appointment as Chairman of Eczacıbaşı Holding in 1995. Under his leadership, the company has expanded significantly, establishing a global presence across over 100 countries. He is also a member of the Trilateral Commission.
