Early Life
Bris Rocher was born in L'Isle-Adam, near Paris, France, in 1978. He is the grandson of Yves Rocher, the founder of the Groupe Rocher, a major player in the cosmetics industry. As a youth, Bris Rocher aspired to be a jazz guitarist. His father, Didier Rocher, was the head of the family business for a brief period before his untimely death in an accident in 1994.
Rise to Success
Bris Rocher entered the family business at the age of 16, without having completed his secondary education. He received training in finance at Arthur Andersen, an accounting firm, in the United States. In 2006, Bris Rocher became the CEO of Groupe Rocher. When Yves Rocher passed away in 2009, Bris, then 31, took over the company's leadership, aiming to maintain the values established by his grandfather. In 2012, Bris Rocher purchased the shares held by Sanofi, consolidating family control over the company. In July 2023, he stepped down as CEO, delegating the position to Jean-David Schwartz, and continued as Chairman, focusing on the long-term strategy and sustainability.
Key Business Strategies
Under Bris Rocher's leadership, Groupe Rocher has experienced significant growth, expanding its brand portfolio and geographical footprint. He focused on opening new markets in regions such as Africa and the Middle East while modernizing the group's products and retail locations. A key element of his strategy has been a commitment to environmental sustainability, making Groupe Rocher a pioneer in eco-responsible products and lighter packaging. In 2019, Groupe Rocher became the first international group to adopt the status of a "mission-driven company," reflecting Rocher's vision of a responsible future.
