Early Life
Binod Chaudhary was born on April 14, 1955, in Kathmandu, Nepal, into a Marwari family. His grandfather, Bhuramal Das Chaudhary, migrated from Rajasthan, India, to Nepal in the 19th century and established a textile business. Binod's father, Lunkaran Das Chaudhary, continued to develop the business, establishing international trading houses and a construction company. At 18, Binod took over the family business due to his father's illness, altering his plans for higher studies and shaping his future.
Rise to Success
Chaudhary began his career managing the family shop, Arun Emporium. He later expanded the retail business into textiles, trading, and manufacturing, laying the foundation for the Chaudhary Group. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Copper Floor, Kathmandu's first discotheque, in 1973. This early venture showcased his ability to identify emerging trends. In 1979, he made a deal with National Panasonic. Chaudhary is best known for founding CG Foods, maker of the popular Wai Wai noodles, which became a bestseller. In 1995, he acquired a controlling stake in Nabil Bank. In 2013, he was recognized by Forbes as Nepal's first billionaire.

Chaudhary's business strategies include diversifying across industries such as FMCG, hospitality, real estate, cement, and financial services. He built strategic partnerships with international companies and expanded CG Corp Global to operate in over 30 countries. He has focused on introducing innovative products like Wai Wai noodles, which have gained a global presence with factories in multiple countries.
Philanthropy
Chaudhary is deeply committed to philanthropy and social development. He established the Chaudhary Foundation in 1995, which focuses on education, healthcare, disaster relief, and women's empowerment.
