Bart van Malderen was born in Merchtem, Belgium, on November 19, 1966. He is the son of Paul Van Malderen, the founder of Ontex, a diaper and sanitary product manufacturer.
Rise to Success
Van Malderen's career began at Ontex, where he worked for 30 years, including 20 years as CEO. Under his leadership, Ontex went public. Van Malderen sold Ontex in 2002 and left the company in 2007. In 2012, after his non-compete agreement ended, Van Malderen founded Drylock Technologies, a diaper manufacturing company. Drylock produces a billion diapers per month from nine factories. In 2019, Sofina, an investment holding company, acquired approximately 25% of Drylock's capital.
